That is correct. Though since there are multiple parishes in the
pipeline all at once, it would be reasonable to expect that actual work
could be closer to 20 hours. Thus keeping the same basic estimate of
pay/hour at near $20. Even if the time were for some reason double the
original high estimate and reach 30 hours, we're looking at $13.33 per
hour. If it turned out to be 40 hours, it would of course be $10 per
hour and so on. Considering most of the planning has already been
accomplished for the 5 parishes in the pipeline, we don't see how there
would be a need for more than 1 hour of work for each one if that at all
save the actual caucuses, which will hopefully be smoother and shorter
than the one in Saint Tammany.
I do know there are 10 more in the planning stages, but hopefully we've
cleared up that this should not all be borne by the ED. And certainly,
if need be, these can and should be stretched out on the calendar so as
not to produce a situation where too much is required all at once that
we can't pay for.
A single caucus would require at the least, the meeting itself at about
2-3 hours. (where the ED's attendance is not required or expected) She
has found a planning meeting or two in advance is helpful as well. That
should be about 2 hours all together. (one long or two shorter meetings,
also where the ED is not required or expected to attend) Add in another
4 hours total for the coordinating efforts working with the Parish
Organizer, and a best estimate is that counting meeting attendance, a
caucus should take about 8 hours spread out over 2 months, which
averages to one hour per week per caucus. Thus this contract amount
should suffice to cover an additional 5 hours per week if 5 caucuses
were being planned all at the same time.
