[LPL Board of Directors] Orleans Caucus Recap

I am looking so forward to meeting the Jefferson Parish LP based upon
these types of stories.

I plan on having paper copies of the parish positions for those people who
are representing the PECs. Out of over 2900 positions, if we can win in
just 1% of those races we will have done something spectacular in
politics. Many of these races will be by acclamation. Ask Mr. Randall
Hayes and Mr. Michael Riffe.

Elections Officer

> The caucus was fantastic. There were 30 members from Orleans present and
> voting, and an additional 10 or so people from other parishes as guest and
> observers.
>
> 12 excellent candidates vied for 7 spots and the strongest core was
> chosen.
> One of the 5 who was not chosen for the PEC was reserved by the Caucus and
> selected as Orleans Rep to the Board. He will be a very active and strong
> representative for them.
>
> Additionally, this PEC is quite diverse as was the group in general. Of
> the
> seven PEC members, one is African-American and one is Latino/Hispanic.
> Their
> Parish Rep is Latino/Hispanic as well. (not sure which is the correct term

> such things as important - we are Libertarians after all. But the caucus
> thought it something to celebrate) Two of their members are women.
>
> They consist of an entrepreneur and business owner, a community organizer
> and
> sports coach, a graduate professor in psychology and radio personality, a
> former U.S. Navy man who was assigned to submarine duty, a NOLA city
> government employee, a law student and former congressional candidate, and
> our
> own Wendy Adams.
>
> They already have plans to appoint more members and additional officers
> than
> the required 6, as well as plans to flesh out sub-committees for various
> duties and tasks. They intend to take NOLA by storm and I have full
> confidence they will do so, and in short order.
