[LPL Board of Directors] Resignation
Adrien Monteleone
chairman at lplouisiana.org
Mon Apr 1 11:45:32 CDT 2013
I spoke to Sal a few weeks ago about him serving on the Board. He has
respectfully declined. He wants to be active again, but so far, is content
with serving as Chair of the St. Tammany PEC. His position also introduces a
problem with serving on the Board in any other capacity because as PEC chair
he is the proxy or "alternate" for his Parish Rep to the Board. Thus if he
were already on the Board as Secretary, and his parish rep missed a meeting,
the parish would lose it's vote on the Board for that meeting. (since he can
only cast one vote)
I can't make heads or tails of what Lee posted about Mitch Dufor. I don't
understand what that is. All I see is his name with a question mark and Reed
saying to call him for more details about him.
I would not support Daniel Hayes for Secretary either. It seems likely at
this time, that Daniel will be vying for the Jefferson Parish Rep position at
his caucus on Thursday. If he is elected, he'll already be on the Board
anyway and can't serve in an executive position.
I spoke to Caleb Trotter last Thursday at the Orleans caucus. (he serves on
their PEC, but not as Chair or Rep)
He is interested in the Treasurer position. I advised him, unless we can find
someone else for Secretary either from outside, or via a re-shuffle of present
members, that I may need to appoint him as Secretary instead, and as acting
Treasurer, similar to what Reed is presently doing. Caleb indicated that
would be fine and he would do whatever is necessary and needed in service of
the LPL.
I don't know what became of the suggestion by Joey Kahrs for Treasurer, I
never got a name. I think he and Reed spoke about it. Perhaps between that
person and Caleb, we can fill Secretary and Treasurer. Otherwise are there
any of the present at-large supporting officers that would prefer to move to
the Secretary position? You'd be giving up your committee chair and would be
absolutely required to attend all Board meetings. With no Secretary, there is
no quorum.

Mr. Horne,
The Chair remonstrates you a SECOND TIME about making inappropriate claims
against fellow members. If you intend to make a motion to bring charges
against the Secretary and acting Treasurer, then do so. Unsubstantiated
accusations are OUT OF ORDER.
In Liberty,
Adrien Monteleone - Chairman
Libertarian Party of Louisiana
