[LPL Board of Directors] Donation question

Adrien;
I have an idea that initially we create laminated business card style
membership cards. When we reach 10,000 members, then we look at taking it to
the next level. My idea is manual but at present we are not bringing in
hundreds at a time but just a few per week. As I'm sure you know there are
companies that provide these services and there are machines & software we
could purchase to do it ourselves.
The question I have is do we create a new membership card every year for
every member? This question I believe is the most critical, as based on this
will really drive the cost and effort.
I did a simple search on OfficeDepot for the cost of a simple card laminator
machine, paper, and laminate is $80-90 (or 80 to 90 cents per card). This
will initially print 100 membership cards. Then for each additional 100
cards the cost drops to about $20 per 100 (or 20 cents per card).
I will be more than happy to purchase this and donate to LPL. If I leave the
Membership office; I will give this to the next person to continue using
(that's what donating means). J

Howard,
Your questions are never an interruption.
The various levels are a marketing ploy for now. We decided that if we only
had one level, that's all we'd get. Same with the annual membership levels.
If you make a one-time donation, I think you also get to choose from preset
levels or declare your own custom amount.
Our former Membership Officer had been working on getting quotes for
producing membership cards. I think he gave all his research to Reed. If
you can get that stuff from him and then follow up, that would be great.
I've been meaning to ask you about doing so, but for some reason, I keep
getting side tracked with other issues if you catch my drift. I know your
time is valuable, and I have already asked a great deal of you, but if you
have a bit to spare to report back some figures at the next meeting I would
appreciate it. If not, that's okay. We'll get it straight for next time.
When you get to it, we're looking for a nice credit card style member card.
Raised lettering is preferred, though we may have to save that for high
dollar members, or even buy our own lettering press to make it cost
effective. I've looked into card printers, but that's in the multi-thousand
dollar range.
At the moment, we just want cards for the various annual levels. I think
we'll end up doing 'thank you' gifts for the one-time donors and pledges.
(and maybe some gifts for the higher membership levels as well)
We have no lifetime member level yet. One was suggested but the motion died
without being voted on. I'll try again this next meeting if there is time.
The Bylaws authorize it, but do not specify the level. We've never had
lifetime memberships before and we only have had dues since 2008 when I was
in my first stint as Chair, so I don't think there are any from many moons
ago that we need to honor.

Sorry for the interruption.
At the last caucus I attended I was asked what the 'Lifetime' membership. I
presumed at the time they were talking about Louisiana Party but maybe they
were asking about the National level. Now I wish I had asked the follow up
question. But I did say I'd look into it.
Do we have a 'Lifetime' member for the LPL?
Also, while I was trying to figure this out myself, what do these levels
mean (other than clever marketing which I like!) that I found on the
website? I guess I'm asking do these afford any additional benefit to the
donating member?
$10.00 - Supporting Pledge
$17.76 - 1776 Club
$30.00 - Dollar-A-Day for Liberty
$50.00 - Freedom Pledge
$100.00 - Silver Pledge
$250.00 - Golden Pledge
