[LPL Board of Directors] MOTION FROM THE CHAIR - urgent - radio advertising

Are we voting on this? I thought this item was withdrawn?
My vote is obviously Nay.
Also, has anyone asked the gentleman putting on the event? My 
understanding was that this was being done by individuals and is not an 
offical LPL event. Has that changed? Shouldn't the individuals 
organizing and running an event be asked? To simply do this without 
consulting the person who sponsored the event doesn't seem right.
Also I am assuming that the profits being spoken of are based on New 
dues paying Members gained? I am unsure of the basis for tracking that. 
It strikes me as being especially hard to track as we do not have a base 
line for this matter as it is our first time there. Additionally, If 
this event is successful and we voted to do this would, that not start 
the precedent for others that have funded materials for this event from 
seeking reimbursement from this? It was my understanding that since this 
was not an official event, that all materials would need to be generally 
self provided. It does not strike me as fair to those that worked hard 
and funded this event to not be reimbursed for their expense all so. 
People also need to consider the impact that this will have on future 
donations.  IF we are having a funding issue relative to a proven 
commodity as Ms Adams and funding her contract to adequate levels, 
expenditures of such unproven items as Radio Spots will have a chilling 
effect on donations. I say this because I already know it has. A minimum 
of $4800 dollars in donations I had pledged towards the Executive 
Director's contract have been withdrawn. I can provide their names or 
many of them can speak up for themselves as most are members of this 
committee. I can only speak with certainty to my own $2000 donation. I 
am not comfortable with such a large sum being donated at once with the 
potentiality to be used so capriciously, especially since I was advised 
by the Chair that earmarked donations were not allowed legally and I am 
not comfortable with promises of funds to be returned if things changed.
