Board of Directors,
I intend to resign from the finance officer position and from the
finance committee effective 4/12/2013 at 11:59 PM. I am resigning due
to personal time constraints and the increasing time the position has
required. I plan to focus more of my volunteer time on the East Baton
Rouge Parish Libertarians. I will not be at the state committee meeting
this Saturday. I'll be at a conference set up by Gary Johnson's Our
America Initiative in Salt Lake City instead.
I do want to offer some parting advice. Many Libertarian Party state
affiliates are highly active with internal fighting. It seems to happen
very frequently all around the country. I encourage you to go out of
your way to be nice to each other--a few notches nicer than you think
seems appropriate. Pretend if you have to. It can be contagious. And
when someone does something that offends you, give them a pass most of
the time. There's something inherently explosive and implosive about
state Libertarian affiliates. It takes hard work to be able to stick
together and work together. When you can't work together, I encourage
you to find ways to work separately, rather than against each other.
I appreciate the time and expense you all incur working to build the
Libertarian Party in Louisiana. I hope you all keep up the great work.
I'm still excited about the recent growth of the Libertarian Party in
Louisiana and will do my best to help pull the weight here in Baton Rouge.
