[LPL Board of Directors] Advertising

I have CD 6 covered.  Awaiting permission from the candidate to tell the board.

The next special will most likely be the Orleans Parish Sheriff.  Cassidy will not have to step down to run as the elections are concurrent. He just cannot run for both seats at the same time.

Not incidentally,

We missed a prime opportunity to hit the ground running and
follow up our Congressional slate with a slew of local offices
        last weekend.

That was opportunity lost, and after lots of work on your part
Boyd, because some people decided for themselves and thus for
the party, that they had other priorities.

We can't skip ANY elections.  We certainly won't be able to
recruit someone into every race.  But we also should never, from
this point forward, sit out an entire election.

Already, a tight eye should be kept on special election
possibilities for the fall, and work needs to start now for the
        known races in 2014.

We don't have a date yet, but we should expect a special
election for CD6 when Cassidy steps down to challenge Landrieu.

Running candidates is advertisement. It's brand identification.
It energizes the base and builds interest in the party.  It is
not optional.  We are a political party, not a social club.

When I said that we will need to discuss advertising for the future, I meant just that.  That it needs to be an agenda item.  I am not sure how that would be done.  I only know to say "Here is an issue we need to be talking about."  We can not wait till too late to have a plan in place.
