Subject: [LPL Board of Directors] Resignation

To all Board members,

After much reflection and personal assessment, I feel I would be doing the
LPL a great disservice in continuing to serve as Chairman.

I have over the past several months, devoted full time or more to the party,
at the expense of personal duties, and work. I am fortunate to have a
flexible work schedule, but that is also my undoing as it allows me to
devote more time than I can afford to the Party. This is my own fault and
doing, but it must be remedied. I am in great financial straits at this
time, and must take a break to recover.

I am still the membership officer of Lafayette, and though I will take a
break there as well, I will hopefully be able to work on the local level to
build the LP down the road.

I have consulted with Mr. Lewis, the Vice-Chairman on this, tendering my
resignation directly to him by phone, along with Mr. Lee Horne. We spoke at
great length about a good number of issues facing the party at the present,
as well as the direction of the party in the future.

Because this was so sudden for him, and because he has other commitments
with the state Legislature, and because of our recent turnover at Treasurer,
Secretary, and Finance Officer, he has asked me for a longer transition
period than I was originally comfortable with.

I consider myself effectively resigned immediately, but have agreed to a
"leave of absence" to be officially ended on or before Sunday May 12th.

Mr. Lewis will in the interim assume full duties as chairman in this absence
to give him time to work out his legislative schedule, and to give the party
time to find a suitable Secretary and now a suitable Vice-Chairman to
replace him.

I remain available for support and consultation for Mr. Lewis as he moves
into his new role as Chairman and to allow for an orderly transition.

Despite this odd status for both of us, please do not contact me unless it
is an absolute emergency. As it is right now, I must work about 60 hours
next week (for pay) in order to meet deadlines for personal bills and debts
that cannot be put off. It is not that I do not want to help or engage in
discussion, but that I really cannot devote any time at all to the LPL for
the near future.

I will be working with Mr. Trotter and Mr. Ebarb to effectuate an orderly
transition of the Treasurer duties and with Mr. Thompson to work out an
orderly transition of website duties to his committee.

I will do whatever minimum is necessary to assist Mr. Lewis, but I will
defer all decisions to him, and for all intents and purposes - he is now the
Chairman.

Considering recent developments, this would be a good opportunity for all
involved to take a break for a while, re-assess and regroup to begin working
to take the party to the next level.
